Y YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS OF NIGERIA (YEN) also known as Association of Youth Entrepreneurs of Nigeria was founded as the umbrella body and voice for Nigerian young entrepreneurs; the organization seeks to empower youth entrepreneurs with finance, capacity building, network, business tools and also champion the cause of young entrepreneurs at local, regional and national levels to curb unemployment amongst youths in Nigeria and enhance national productivity.
Young Entrepreneurs of Nigeria (YEN) as a non-profit private sector led organization promotes youth entrepreneurship development and Nigeria’s economic growth. Membership of the organization is opened to all Nigerian young entrepreneurs including aspiring entrepreneurs from the ages 18-45. The organization is duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission and the National Secretariat of the organization is headquartered in Lagos, the commercial hub of Nigeria. YEN as an organization is governed by the National Executives composed of the National President and other thirteen (13) National Executives and an Executive Secretary who is the chief administrator of the organization.
What distinguishes Young Entrepreneurs of Nigeria (YEN) from other associations is that we do not only seek to promote & protect our members, we also offer voluntary and selfless service to enhance youth entrepreneurship development in Nigeria through effective communication, talent harnessing, capacity building, youth empowerment and mentorship. In the same vein we are actively driven, confident, innovative, self-motivated, analytical, service oriented, focused and well able to excel in any undertaking.
The organization is saddled with the responsibility of representing and expressing the opinions of the Nigerian young entrepreneurs: creating opportunities, promotion of trade and commerce, creating business networking platforms, enhancing investment opportunities, entrepreneurship development, fostering economic development and growth, Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s) development, youth empowerment and development, fostering local manufacturing and production and other related activities.
Currently, YEN has a membership of over four hundred thousand (400,000) nation-wide and still counting. YEN has two major organizational structures namely, the National Secretariat and the State Chapters. Young Entrepreneurs of Nigeria’s National Secretariat is headquartered in Lagos with 37 State Chapters including FCT Abuja.
As an entrepreneurship organization, the YEN management is currently working with government agencies, spirited individuals, local and international donors to enhance youth entrepreneurship development in Nigeria that will boost economic growth and create employment for teeming Nigerian youth.
